Anderson Joins NIAAA Division
Dr. Sally M. Anderson has been appointed deputy director of
NIAAA's Division of Basic Research. Her duties include the
supervision and management of staff overseeing portfolios in
support of behavioral and biomedical research, neuroscience,
genomics, proteomics and multidisciplinary research focusing on
aspects of alcohol abuse, alcoholism or other alcohol-related
problems. A long-time member of the NIAAA neuroscience and
behavior integrated review group, Anderson has also served on
review committees for NIDA, NIMH and the VA. She began her
association with NIH as an intramural investigator for NIMH and
went on to work for NINCDS (now NINDS). Most recently, she
served at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.
