Hunt Appointed Sleep Center Director
Dr. Carl E. Hunt has joined NHLBI as director of the National
Center on Sleep Disorders Research (NCSDR). Previously, he
served on the faculties of the University of Minnesota,
Northwestern University and the Medical College of Ohio, where he
chaired the department of pediatrics from 1988 to 1997. He is a
leading researcher on sudden infant death syndrome. He has
participated in numerous scientific committees including the SIDS
global strategy task force and the NICHD committee on future
directions for SIDS research. In 1994, he received the first annual
Annenberg Center at Eisenhower Apnea of Infancy Award. NCSDR
was established by legislation in 1993 to support sleep-related
research and educational programs.
