Construction Progress Evident as Major Projects March On
 |
The Mark O. Hatfield
Clinical Research Center is beginning to take real form as it rises. |
|
The Louis Stokes Laboratory Bldg., by contrast, seems almost done; it is scheduled for
completion sometime this fall. |
 |
 |
A view of the new Dale
and Betty Bumpers Vaccine Research Center looking toward the
northwest shows that most of the major external
features of the building are in place. The fast-track
project is due to wrap up sometime in the fall. |
|
The VRC as seen looking southwest. Neighboring Bldg. 37 (to the
right of the VRC) is under floor-by-floor renovation at the
moment, and shares certain architectural features with its
new partner. The Bldg. 37 modernization project is supposed
to be finished sometime around fall 2004. |

The CRC site boasts
its own concrete batch plant (l) so that the freshest,
best-made product is readily available. The plant also
reduces the number of truck trips onto campus at a time when
multiple major construction projects are in some phase of
completion. The CRC is slated to open in late
2002. |
