NCI's Sarah P. Payne Retires
Sarah P. Payne
A retirement party was held July 28 in honor of Sarah P. Payne's 35 years of government service. She began her career in April 1963 at the General Services Administration, but spent the last 19 years at NIH as a contract specialist, first in the Division of Procurement and then in the National Cancer Institute. Her career has been highlighted by many awards and commendations. For example, she received a substantial cash award for her use of procurement knowledge in the purchase of two mass spectrometers for the Division of Basic Sciences, NCI, resulting in considerable savings. Payne plans to enjoy her retirement by traveling and taking several cruises.
